West Forsyth’s Gabrielle Drum to march in Macy’s

Gabrielle Drum, a student at West Forsyth High, has been selected as a member of the prestigious Macyʼs Great American Marching Band. She will be representing the West Forsyth and the State of North Carolina

as one of the 250 high school students from across the United States.

Gabrielle is a sophomore flutist. Her parents are Jon and Kris Drum.

The Macyʼs Great American Marching Band has marched in the Macyʼs Thanksgiving Day Parade every year since 2006. This year, the band will be in the honor position

of leading or ending the parade. The musicians are under the direction

of Dr. Richard Good, Director of Bands at Auburn University assisted

by Dr. Barry Houser, Marching

Band Director at the University of Illinois. The 213 musicians will be complemented by 39 flags and dancers.

In addition to marching in the parade,

all selected participants’ package

plans will include meals, lodging,

a motivational speaker seminar, a Broadway show, local transportation,

a final evening banquet/dance and New York City sightseeing.
