Ann Bowden Miller Fritz

Dec. 10, 1932-July 11, 2014

Ann Bowden Miller Fritz, age 81, went to be with her Lord on July 11, 2014. Ann was born in York, Pennsylvania on December 10, 1932 to Albert Jacob Miller and Olive Brassington Bowden. At the age of 17, she attended Gettysburg College, before marrying her husband. Ann had five boys over the next 14 years. The family moved to Gastonia, NC in 1973, then to Lewisville, NC in 1976. Ann embraced her new home, calling North Carolina home. After moving to Lewisville, Ann worked for the Shaklee vitamin distributorship in Clemmons for 17 years. Ann loved books, especially mysteries, and she was a volunteer at the Forsyth County Public Library in Lewisville for a number of years. She was a wonderful mother and loving wife. She was the pillar of the family and made the house a home. Ann loved motherhood, people, animals, and life in general. Ann took care of other people all of her life, from her mother, who passed away after a long illness when Ann was 13, to her father at the end of his life, and everyone and every animal who needed her. Animals seemed to find the way to her house so she would take them in. Ann had a great sense of humor and love of fun. Her greatest joys were her sons and their families, and her animals. She was a strong believer in the Lord Jesus and had great faith in Him. She was a member of Lewisville United Methodist Church. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Carl, and four of her five sons; her daughters-in-law; three beautiful granddaughters; her sister-in-law; and her nephew and his family. Ann was predeceased by her son, David; her brother, Jim Miller; and her parents. Ann will be missed more than words can express, but we look forward to being reunited with her again in heaven. Good-bye for now, mom. A memorial service was held Thursday, July 17, 2014, at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Ivan Peden officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Forsyth Humane Society, 61 Miller Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27104 or Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
