Grover “GK” Kimbrough Foster 

Mr. Grover “GK” Kimbrough Foster, 85, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014 at his residence. 

He was born April 24, 1929 in Yadkin County, the son of George and Cora Mitchell Foster. He was a member of Clemmons United Methodist Church, where he was a charter member of the Clemmons United Methodist Men, the 1999 Lay Person of the year and for over 50 years he taught the Crusader Sunday School Class. He started out his life as a dairy farmer then went to work as a buyer at Motor Parts and R & M Warehouse retiring with over 50 years of service, he later worked for Automotive Associates. A hard-working man who loved to work in his garden, he was devoted to his Church and family and loved doing for others. He is preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Ethel Foster Taylor, Mary Ellen Foster Anderson, Mozelle Foster Hall and Velma Mae Foster and a brother, William Thomas Foster. 

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Margaret Paul Foster; his daughters, Patricia Lee Carter (Dean) of Clemmons, Kimberly Ann Luper (Al) of Tobaccoville, Paula Christine Foster of the home and Molly Marie Nolan of High Point; a brother, George Leo Foster of Winston-Salem; ten grandchildren, Sarah Bailey(Zack), Will Mowery, Catherine Mowery, Bobby Carter(Candace), Barry Carter(Shiloh), Bucky Carter(Kelly Lynn), Christopher Luper(Courtney), Cory Luper(Riley), Caila Luper and Terah Nolan; seven great-grandchildren, Landon Luper, Nick Endicott, Madison Carter, Brayden Carter, Grayson Carter, James Carter, Charles Carter. 

A funeral service will be held at 11 am Thursday, August 21st a Clemmons United Methodist Church by the Revs. Mark Portis and Paula Northrup. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11:00 am before the service at the church.
