Thad and Mary Bingham, long time residents and business owners in Clemmons, donated $1 million dollars to the Clemmons Community Foundation. Thad and Mary and their daughters, Donna Bingham Merriman and Denise Bingham Rumfelt, have a long history of giving back to the community. Thad owned and operated Bingham Lumber Company and are members of Clemmons United Methodist Church. Mary Bingham and her daughter, Donna, own and operate Fraleigh’s Boutique in Clemmons. The love for Clemmons and the community involvement is definitely a common thread for this family. “We are excited about this donation to the Clemmons Community Foundation,” said Mary Bingham. “It’s an opportunity to continue to support the community that we love so much. We trust that the projects the foundation has supported over the years provide invaluable services and support to those in need. One example is the Clemmons Food Pantry,” added Bingham. “It’s the right thing to do for the future of Clemmons,” added Thad Bingham. Ken Burkel, Clemmons Community Foundation President, said, “The Clemmons Community Foundation is honored to receive such a generous contribution. We will ensure the funds will go to help residents in Clemmons.” The Clemmons Community Foundation was founded in 2004. It is a registered 501(c) 3 non-profit charitable organization.
