Christmas Treasures Sales

To the Editor:

We’d like to express our heartfelt thanks for another successful Christmas Treasures Sale at Clemmons Moravian Church. By 8 A.M. on Saturday, December 5th there were 87 people standing in line in 30 degree weather to get in the door. This year we had our own “Christmas forest” – a record 25 trees sparkling in the morning lights And they all sold. We thank our devoted volunteers who worked all week unpacking, sorting, and pricing the items. We also thank everyone who donated items. There are more and more community donations each year. And, of course, we thank our shoppers! They are so excited when they come in the door and very happy when they leave with their treasures. This was our 8th year. The first year we made $751. This year our total was $2,840 with $1,800 given to the Clemmons Food Pantry. That brings our 8 year total to $11,515 with $6,700 to the Food Pantry! All that money was free and clear because it is from donated items. The sale has taken on a life of its own — a true community event with lots of happy shoppers. The comments as they leave are so positive. Christmas treasure are gently used items that are no longer used, but too good to throw away and just taking up storage space in the attic. Let us help you deal with that. As you put away your Christmas decorations or get them out next year, save a box for the sale. It’s usually the first Saturday in December. Watch for it! Thanks again to everyone involved.
