Someone brought a cake, and the two clubs — the adult Kiwanis Club of Clemmons and the teen counterpart Key Club at West Forsyth High — had a pleasant time together last week during the Key Club’s annual induction ceremony.

Faculty advisor Theresa Bryant said the clubs wanted to make it a special event this year.

“Theresa Bryant is the new adviser of the West High School Key Club and she is doing a great job,” said Ed Brewer, president of the Kiwanis Club. “The West Key Club now has over 100 members and Theresa thought it would be a good idea to have a formal induction/installation of the members into the Key Club.”

The officers of the Club actually conducted the ceremony and each member was called to the stage and presented with a Certificate of Membership. The induction ceremony was followed by a social in the lobby featuring cakes with the Kiwanis and West High School seals on them. I am really impressed with not only the number of Key Clubbers but also the many activities they are involved in,” Brewer said. “This is a really great group of kids and I am delighted to see them working so hard to make our community a better place.”
