Sara Migliarese to lead Rotary Club

On June 22, the Rotary Club of Clemmons held its Annual Awards and New Officer Installation Dinner, at the Bermuda Run Country Club.

Outgoing President, Dan Greer, said “2015-2016 was a great year for our club. Our club motto for the year was ‘No one can do everything, but everyone can do something,’, and our members really got involved in our service and fund raising projects in a big way this year”.

The new Rotary president will be Sara Migliarese, Brad Davis is President Elect, and Susan Joy, President Nominee. Incoming President, Sara Migliarese said “in 2016-2017 our Club motto will be ‘Make Your Service Matter’ and we are looking for even more ways to improve our community”.

Through various fundraisers, like the fall Casino Night, the $10,000 Reverse Cash Raffle, Christmas Tree Sales, and the spring Golf Tournament, the Club raised over $70,000 with which to support their favorite service projects and charities. In the past twelve months the Rotary Club of Clemmons offered financial support to the following organizations: Clemmons Food Pantry, Cancer Services, Boy Scouts of America, West Forsyth High School (through Student of the Month Awards, college scholarships, and a Rotary Interact Club), Forsyth Jail and Prison Ministry, Veteran’s Helping Veterans Heal, a special World War II Veterans Recognition Dinner, the Jerry Long YMCA, Camp Hanes for needy children, the Mental Health Association, Hospice and Palliative care, the Winston Salem State University Rotary Rotaract Club, G.I.D.E. Guiding Institute of Developmental Education, Saving Little Hearts of Nicaragua, Sister2Sister International Outreach in Kenya, and Club Cruz Alta in Argentina.
