Eugene Ronald ‘Gene’ Livengood

Mr. Eugene “Gene” Ronald Livengood, 80, of Clemmons, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016 at his residence. Mr. Livengood was born in Forsyth County on August 16, 1936. He graduated in 1955 from Clemmons High School and retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. Gene was an active member and former deacon of Center Grove Baptist Church. He was Past Master of Clemmons Masonic Lodge #755. Gene volunteered as a Yokefellow with the Forsyth County Jail & Prison Ministry and coached Pop Warner football as well as Little League baseball. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.A. Livengood and Annie Ruth Bullard Livengood Craver; his stepfather, Archie Craver and his twin brothers, Lon and Don Livengood. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Jean Tise Livengood; a daughter, Cynthia Livengood (friend Carolyn Smith) of Greensboro; a son, Scott Livengood (wife Margaret) of Burlington; three grandchildren, Virginia, Joseph and Caroline Livengood; one brother, Bob Livengood and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 10, 2016 with Dr. Steve Corts and Dr. Mark Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
