A little bit of Clemmons is in every bite of Biscuitville’s new spicy chicken and honey biscuit, a sandwich that has caught fire with guests.

The honey comes from Golding Farms of Clemmons.

Originally designed to be a limited-time offer through December, the “Sweet Heat” biscuit is the best-selling promotional item in Biscuitville’s 50-year history and is offered at every location.

“We started with a Southern concept pairing sweet with heat in our test kitchen, but it was our local partnership with Golding Farms and their pure, light-amber honey that brought the product to life,” said Burney Jennings, chief executive officer of Biscuitville. “Guest response has been extremely gratifying, and the Spicy Chicken and Honey Biscuit is generating more than double the sales of promotional items we’ve offered in the past.”

Biscuitville’s Spicy Chicken and Honey Biscuit has a diverse flavor profile that offers a tasty twist on Southern-inspired cuisine. The spice component brings the heat with a custom-blend of American-grown peppers: cayenne for heat, white pepper for balance, and red and green bell peppers for flavor.

Honey is drizzled on the chicken.

“The Spicy Chicken and Honey Biscuit reflects our commitment to working closely with our partners to innovate our menu while staying true to our heritage of serving guests fresh, authentic and locally sourced ingredients,” said Jennings. “We’ll keep ‘sweet heat’ on our menu through the cold winter months and then evaluate if it becomes a permanent item for our guests.”

The Spicy Chicken and Honey Biscuit was launched in September and is available in all 54 Biscuitville restaurants in North Carolina and Virginia.
