Deborah Lynn Little

Deborah Lynn Little, age 45, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017. She was born January 23, 1972 in Oakland County, MI. to Howard QL Little, Jr. and Anne Berry Little. Deborah was a 1990 graduate of West Forsyth High School. Deborah was a loyal person who would sit for hours listening to you and always helped others when she could. She enjoyed repairing anything, fishing, needlework, rocking, kept everything sentimental and had a love for animals. She is preceded in death by her mother. She is survived by her father, Howard QL Little, Jr.; her twin brother, Howard QL Little, III; one sister, Elizabeth Taylor; two nieces, Iris and Sophia Little and her beloved furry “babies” Gizmo, Coffee, Toot and Motor. James Allen Helms

May 3, 1945 – April 24, 2017

Mr. James Allen Helms, 71, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2017, at Forsyth Medical Center. Jim was born in Union County on May 3, 1945. He graduated from Monroe High School, class of 1963. A U.S. Army Veteran, he served in the Special Forces with three tours in the Vietnam conflict. Among being an entrepreneur, Medic in the military, and Highway Patrolman, his greatest accomplishment was his family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather; who used his gifts and talents to serve others. While reminiscing on their time at New Hope Moravian Church, his wife fondly refers to him as her “partner in ministry,” through whom she gained strength and support in carrying out her duties as an Ordained Minister. Surviving are his loving wife of 39 years, Rev. Betty Helms; three sons, Jimmy Helms (Kerri), Jeff Helms, and Marc Helms (Kelly); two grandchildren, Makayla Helms and Hailey Mae Helms; special friends and his classmates of Monroe High School class of 1963; beloved dogs, Max, Molly, and Cooper; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held Saturday, April 29, 2017, at Friedberg Moravian Church, 2178 Friedberg Church Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27127, with Rev. Jimmy Newsome and Rt. Rev. Lane Sapp officiating. Interment follow edat the church graveyard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Cameron Monroe McDaniel

Cameron Monroe McDaniel, 50, of Lewisville passed peacefully on Friday, April 28, 2017. A devoted and loving husband and father, Cameron showed unwavering strength and honor in his military service, in leading his family well, and in his courageous battle with brain cancer for the past year and a half. Cameron was the son of the late Lenard McDaniel and Astrid Saylor. In addition to his mother, he is survived by the love of his life, Marie Sipe McDaniel, and his children, Jackson Tyler, Eli Chase, and Abigail Grace (of the home). He is also survived by his sister, Kimberly McDaniel, and his loving aunt, Cynthia “Auntie” Trivette. His extended family of nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends will also cherish his memory always. Cameron served his country in the Army in the infantry and as a helicopter pilot. He retired with 22 years of service, earning the rank of Retired Chief Warrant Officer Three (CW3) as a helicopter instructor pilot. Five of his years of service were spent in Germany, a time he often spoke of when recollecting his Army days. Cameron’s strength of character served him well not only in the military but in his civilian career with Johnson and Johnson DuPuy Synthes Spine where he worked in sales and training as part of the surgical innovations team in spinal surgery instrumentation in medical centers throughout North Carolina and South Carolina. Although Cameron had successful careers in both the Army and civilian life, his heart and life passions revolved around church and the activities in which his children participated. Cameron served as a life group leader at Center Grove Baptist Church where he attended with his family, and he served as the SERT security team leader working behind-the-scenes to improve the safety and security of the church campus. Cameron impacted the lives of many young ball players in the Lewisville-Clemmons community coaching little league baseball and Upward basketball. He took great joy in watching Tyler, Eli, and Abigail play sports and spending time cheering them on in their endeavors. Cameron’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Roy Strowd and the neuro-oncology team at Wake Forest Baptist Health and the Kate B Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem for their compassionate care of Cameron. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at Center Grove Baptist Church, 8750 Lasater Road, Clemmons, NC with Dr. Steve Corts officiating. A private graveside will be held following the service. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kate B. Catharina “Rita” Hendrina Roché

Catharina “Rita” Hendrina Roché, age 80, passed away on April 27, 2017. She was born on October 20, 1936 in Nelspruit, South Africa to Johannes Magiel and Catharina Hendrina Roets. A teacher by profession, she brought joy to many a student’s day in her career, most of which was dedicated to Lowveld High School in her hometown. Dressmaking, knitting, puzzles and Sudoku were among her hobbies and she cherished family time spent close to nature and wildlife. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Joseph Roché, and siblings, Pieter George Roets and Johannes Magiel Roets. She is survived by her daughters, Carina Cloete and husband, Laurence, and Rita Robinson and husband, Richard; grandchildren, John Roché and fiancé, Elizabeth Hood, and Martin Cloete; siblings, Gerhardus Roets, Susara Esterhuizen and Maria Fourie, and many nieces, nephews, and loved ones. A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 4th at 2pm at Clemmons Presbyterian Church, 3930 Clemmons Rd. in Clemmons. Vogler & Sons Clemmons Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Nature Conservancy.
