Children’s Story times:
Children’s Story times: Join us for great books, finger plays, songs and crafts! Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. for toddlers (ages 18 months to 3 years), Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. for preschoolers (ages 3-5 years).
Music & Movement: Join us for dancing, singing and shaking out those sillies! Best for children 18 months to 5 years and caregivers, but all ages are welcome! Music and Movement takes place on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at the Clemmons Branch Library. The next Music and Movement session will be on Wednesday, July 25 at 10:30 a.m.

Summer Reading Program:
The Balloon Lady: Come watch the Balloon Lady in a loud and energetic performance as she creates amazing things with just balloons!  The event will be on Tuesday, July 17, at 2 p.m. Program open for children of all ages.

Teen Programs:
L.B. The Poet: L.B. The Poet is well known for his verse and style of words, and a delivery that will capture your heart and mind. This summer, join the 2018 Forsyth County Library system-wide teen performer, L.B., for a poetry workshop designed to introduce the mechanics of writing, rhyming and presenting. Large groups please register! This event will be on Thursday, July 19, at 4 p.m. Workshop is for rising 6th-12th graders.

Adult Programs:
Book Lovers’ Club: The Clemmons Branch Library’s Book Lovers’ Club meets every first Monday of the month (unless the date falls on a holiday). Join this dynamic group for a great discussion of a selected title! Free and open to the public. The next meeting will be on Aug. 6 at 6:30 p.m. with a discussion of Another Sun by Elaine Neil Orr.
Clemmons Cookin’ Club: If you enjoy cooking, come join the Clemmons Cookin’ Club. We meet every month on the third Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. in the auditorium at the Clemmons Branch Library. Come in and choose a recipe from a pre-selected book and we’ll make a copy for you. Bring in the finished dish on the day of the meeting to share with other members. Expand your palate by tasting all the recipes, connect with people who enjoy cooking, and discuss the recipes. Call 703-2920 if you have questions. It will last about one hour.  Our next meeting is Wednesday, July 21, in the auditorium, 3554 Clemmons Road, and will feature German recipes.

 

Vacation Bible school

Harmony Grove UMC’s Vacation Bible School will be July 15-17, for ages 4 through 5th grade. The theme is Rolling River Rampage: Experience the Ride of a Lifetime with God. Sunday time is 4-7 p.m. with dinner for all participants and parents at 6 p.m., Monday and Tuesday6:30 to 8 p.m. The church is located at 5071 Styers Ferry Road, Lewisville. For more information, call 336-712-0057.

Friedberg’s Annual Indoor Tag Sale

Friedberg Moravian Church’s Women’s Fellowship is sponsoring Friedberg’s Annual Indoor Tag Sale on Thursday, Aug. 23, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.Friday, Aug. 24, 8 a.m. to noon3-7 p.m., and on Saturday, Aug. 25, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Come and find your favorite items! Antiques, seasonal decorations, books, sports equipment, household items, furniture, tools, and new items will be available for sale. Address is 2178 Friedberg Church Road, Winston-Salem.

Gospel quartet

Craft Brothers Gospel Quartet’s 63rd Anniversary Singing at Lewisville United Methodist Church in Lewisville will be July 21 at 7 p.m. Everyone is invited to come and join in the fellowship. There will be refreshments to follow. For more info call 336-945-0805.

Free summer adventure for kids at Union Hill

On July 16-20, Union Hill Baptist Church will be hosting its annual vacation Bible school. The VBS will run each night (Monday through Friday) from 6-8 p.m. for kids from birth to completed 5th grade.

A full meal will be provided at the beginning of the evening before an exciting program of drama, games, crafts and stories.

This year’s theme is “Game On!” which will train kids in “gearing up for life’s big game.”

Online registration is now open at uhnow.org. This is a free event open to all children from 0-11.
