Garry Ray Potts

ADVANCE — Mr. Garry Ray Potts, 67, of Advance, passed away Monday, Aug. 20, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born Oct. 20, 1950, in Iredell County to Luther Ray and Louise Jones Potts. Mr. Potts was the former owner of Potts Automotive and later Potts Texaco in Hillsdale. He was preceded in death by his wife, LaDonna Parrish Potts and his twin brother, Barry Harding Potts. Surviving is his daughter, Cindy Ellis; a sister, Barbara Potts Allen; and three nieces, Tammy Fleming, Kimberly Davidson and Kandace Plott. A memorial service was held 3 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018, at Cornatzer Baptist Church. The family received friends prior to the service. Jerry E. Wilson

Jerry E. Wilson 78, of Clemmons, passed away Aug. 3, 2018, at Forsyth Medical Center. Jerry was born in Robeson County, N.C., on April 9, 1940, to Asbury and Myrtle Faircloth Wilson. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Linda Graham Wilson; two daughters, Donna Sexton (Bob), and Lisa Struzik (Chris); four grandchildren, Stephanie Stroupe (Chris), Melissa Ashworth (Alan), Zachary Struzik, Lauren Struzik; one great-granddaughter, Caroline Stroupe; and a brother, Knox Wilson. A funeral service was held Monday, Aug. 6, at 11 a.m. at Westlawn Mausoleum Chapel. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 5, at Frank Vogler and Sons Clemmons Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Clemmons United Methodist Church.

Mr. Douglas E. Lee, 62, passed away Aug. 16, 2018. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018, at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with visitation at 3 p.m.
