Sam Easley

LEWISVILLE — Mr. Sam Easley, 82, passed away Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born in Forsyth County on Dec. 20, 1935, to the late James Samuel Easley, Jr. and Minnie Satterthwaite Easley. Sam graduated from N.C. State University in 1958 and later served in the U.S. Army. He retired from Forsyth Medical Center with 30 years of service. Sam was an active member of Clemmons First Baptist Church and enjoyed walking and gardening. Surviving is his wife of 44 years, Shelby Easley; three daughters, Robin Siega-Riz (Gene) of Clemmons, April Hager (Randy) of Pfafftown, and Angela Thomas (Chip) of Emerald Isle; son, Thomas Wilson (Trina) of Suffolk, Va.; nine grandchildren, Josh, Jeff and Matt Tharington; Casey and Nick Siega-Riz; Megan Bennett and Morgan Mathews; J.T. and Holly Wilson; eight great-grandchildren; also surviving is his sister-in-law, Judy Nance. A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018, at Clemmons First Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Hammett officiating. The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the church. A private burial followed the service.
