After the terrible flooding that occurred from Hurricane Florence in September, the instructors and students of Sunrise Yoga wanted to be a part of raising funds for the disaster relief that continues to affect so many who have lost much. From Sept. 17-30, Sunrise Yoga Studio in Clemmons accepted monetary donations for the American Red Cross Hurricane Florence Disaster Relief in conjunction with a special event offering a free class celebrating the National Month of Yoga and International Peace Day. Thanks to the compassion and generosity of all who participated by attending the free class and to those who could not attend but made donations during this time, Sunrise Yoga Studio raised a total of $2,424. In the picture, studio owner Valerie Kiser (on right) and instructor Cathy Howe (on left) present the check to John R. Hughes, executive director for the Piedmont Triad American Red Cross. Our hearts and thoughts are with those who have been and are still being affected by the effects and flooding from Hurricane Florence.
