RALEIGH — During the opening ceremonies of the 2019-2020 session, Rep. Donny Lambeth was named a senior chair of the House Appropriations Committee by Speaker Tim Moore. As a senior chair, Lambeth will lead the plans and process to completion of a house budget. This will entail being the key negotiator with the Senate and the governor to reach a final state budget.
“I look forward to representing the citizens of my district as a key budget negotiator and establishing the fiscal priorities of the state. Preparing a state budget is the primary responsibility of the General Assembly and the process starts immediately,” he said.
Speaker Moore stated, “Rep. Lambeth’s background as a former CFO of one of North Carolina’s largest hospitals, along with his previous experience as a chair of the Appropriations Committee, make him an excellent choice to lead this most important committee as he continues to work for all North Carolinians.”
Rep. Lambeth is beginning his fourth term in the House of Representatives. He received his BS in business administration from High Point University and earned an MBA from Wake Forest University.
