Shallowford Series Concerts events

The 32nd season of Shallowford Series Concerts presented by Shallowford Presbyterian Church in collaboration with the University of North Carolina School of the Arts will continue on Sunday, Feb. 17, at 3 p.m. at Shallowford Presbyterian Church.
The program, performed by the Pickle Brass Quintet and the Chrysalis Brass Quintet of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, will include works by Malcolm Arnold, Eric Ewazen, Morley Calvert, Eugene Bozza, and Leonard Bernstein.
Performers are Julio Jeri, Mikeal Swanhart, Darrion Keck and Anthony Lacivita on trumpets; Hanna Peters and Sarah Smith on horns; Christopher Hayes and Forrest Dunn on trombone; and Nicholas Psihountas and Joseph Floyd on tuba.
The Shallowford Series will continue on Sunday, March 24 with “An Afternoon of Violin Virtuosity” featuring students from the UNCSA Violin Studio of professor Kevin Lawrence.
All concerts are free to the public, and will be followed by a reception honoring the performers.
On view through February on the Shallowford Presbyterian Church Art Wall is “Through My Lens: Photographs by John Golden.” Photographs in this exhibition will be available for purchase from the photographer. All sales will benefit the Mason Hunter Scholarship Fund at West Forsyth High School.
