Now that first semester exams are a thing of the past, things are beginning to pick up the pace at West. Students and staff are looking forward to next year, while seniors are just focusing on making it to the finish line. In order to get there, however, a few things have to happen first.
Senior day will be next Wednesday, Feb. 13, at 8:20 a.m. This event is often referred to as the “business side” of graduation, as students take care of the paperwork and photography that comes along with the big day. Students must come ready with the $45 senior fee, which pays for a cap, gown and tassel. This fee can also be paid online prior to the event. Seniors must fill out and bring a cap and gown measurement form which may be found in the library alongside other important senior information. Additionally, the Jostens announcement and souvenir orders packet must be turned in. Students will take their cap and gown pictures, so be sure to visit the senior webpage on the West Forsyth website and dress according to the senior day dress code. Seniors will be excused from their classes at both West Forsyth and Career Center provided that the event runs smoothly.
Also on Wednesday, Feb. 13, the 2019-2020 registration meeting will be held at 6 p.m. in the Anderson Performing Arts Center for parents and students in rising 9th-12th grades. Attendees will receive important information regarding class choices, the registration process and all that West Forsyth has to offer. There will be an opportunity for specific questions during the program.
The last information meeting for the 2019 Spain trip will be next Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 6 p.m. in room 2102. The trip is not limited to students currently taking Spanish. Contact Ms. Lizano at mlizano@wsfcs.k12.nc.us for more details.
