This past Sunday, a second concert and reception was hosted by the Shallowford Presbyterian Church in Lewisville, that featured two brass quintets from the North Carolina School of the Art, the Chrysalis Brass Quintet and the Pickled Brass Quintet. Both played multiple selections and very few seats available in the sanctuary.
The reception also featured a second art exhibit from local photographer John Golden who displayed his landscape photography again in an exhibit titled “Through My Lens.” All proceeds from the sales from this exhibit will be donated to the Mason H. Hunter Vocational Scholarship of the Lewisville-Clemmons Chamber of Commerce Fund of the Clemmons Community Foundation. Thus far, the exhibits have raised $1,443.50 and with a matching donor the total is $2,887.
The show is scheduled to be taken down on March 2nd and Golden would be more than willing to continue this effort if anyone would be interested in hosting it. There are 15 pieces remaining at this point with a total value of $1,475 and with matching funds the total would be $2,950.
Golden also expressed his appreciation for the support of Shallowford Presbyterian Church, Clemmons Rotary, The Clemmons Community Foundation, Clemmons Courier and the Lewisville-Clemmons Chamber of Commerce to make the event a success.
