Children’s programs:
Children’s story times: Join in for great books, finger plays, songs and crafts. Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. for toddlers (ages 18 months to 3 years), Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. for preschoolers (ages 3-5).
Basics of Banking for Youth: On Friday, April 5, at 4 p.m. find out what children need to know about banking. This class will provide a brief overview of saving, borrowing and checking accounts for kids ages 8-13, and their parents. Presented by Summit Credit Union. Adult programs:

Bipolar Disorder: Join in on Wednesday, April 3, at 10 a.m. to learn about bipolar disorder. Presented by the NC Geriatric & Adult Mental Health Specialty Team.
Book Lovers’ Club: The Clemmons Branch Library’s Book Lovers’ Club meets every first Monday of the month (unless the date falls on a holiday). Join this dynamic group for a great discussion of a selected title. Free and open to the public. The next meeting will be on April 1 at 6:30 p.m. with a discussion of “The Goldfinch” by Donna Tartt.
Clemmons Cookin’ Club: If you enjoy cooking, come join the Clemmons Cookin’ Club. Come in and choose a recipe from a pre-selected book and a copy will be made for you. Bring in the finished dish on the day of the meeting to share with other members. Expand your palate by tasting all the recipes, connect with people who enjoy cooking, and discuss the recipes. Call the library at 336-703-2920 if you have questions. The program will last about one hour. The next meeting is at 12:30 p.m. on Wed., April 17, in the auditorium at 3554 Clemmons Road. Chicken pie sale
Friedberg Moravian Church will be having a chicken pie sale from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, April 6. Friedberg Moravian is located at 2178 Friedberg Church Road in Winston-Salem.
Public meeting announcement
Members of the Lewisville Town Council may be present at meetings at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 25, and Tuesday, March 26, for presentations on design by selected architects for a new community center.
Meetings will be held at Town Hall on the first floor in Council Chambers.
Handicapped persons requiring special accommodations may contact Lewisville Town Hall at 336-945-5558 at least 72 hours in advance of the meeting to request assistance.
Shallowford Series Concerts
The 32nd season of Shallowford Series Concerts presented by Shallowford Presbyterian Church in collaboration with the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, will continue at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, at Shallowford Presbyterian Church.
The program, “An Afternoon of Violin Virtuosity,” performed by violinists and pianists from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, will include works by Bartok, Chausson, Korngold, Lalo, Mendelssohn, Mozart and St. Saens. All violin performers are students of UNCSA Professor Kevin Lawrence.
The concert is free to the public, and will be followed by a reception honoring the performers.
On view through April on the Shallowford Presbyterian Church Art Wall: “Masks: Creations of Fantasies and Dreams.” Works by artist Martina Moore and others.

Country Pinto Bean Supper Fundraiser event
Lewisville United Methodist Church will be hosting a pinto bean supper from 5:30-8 p.m. on Friday, April 5. Everyone is invited. Pinto beans with all the fixin’s, coleslaw, cornbread, iced tea, and dessert will be served. Entertainment will be provided by the country and bluegrass band Chicken Hot Rod. Tickets are $9 in advance and $10 at the door. Tickets for children age 10 and under are $5. All proceeds will benefit the projects of the Lewisville Historical Society. Newcomers and Neighbors meeting
Newcomers and Neighbors of the greater Winston-Salem area holds its monthly meeting on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Coffee and social time is at 9:45 a.m. with meeting to follow. Master Gardener plant sale
The Forsyth County Extension Master Gardener Volunteers will hold their annual plant sale at the Arboretum at Tanglewood Park from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. on Friday, May 3, and Saturday, May, 4. Enjoy the beauty of the gardens while making your way to one of Forsyth County’s premier plant sales. Selections include unique annuals and herbaceous perennials, as well as flowering shrubs and trees, such as native plants, milkweed, herbs, vegetables, and more.
This event is one of the major fundraisers for the Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Program. Proceeds from your purchase help maintain The Arboretum and Gardens at Tanglewood Park and fund the monthly Adult Education lecture series held at the Arboretum office throughout the year.

Jam sessions
Farmington Community Center at 1723 Farmington Road in Mocksville hosts a country music and gospel only jam session every Thursday night from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The center also hosts a bluegrass jam session every Monday night from 7-9 p.m. Bring whatever instrument you play and join the fun. Cover charge for listeners $2, players are free.
GriefShare program at Clemmons UMC
Clemmons United Methodist Church will have a series of GriefShare, a grief support group every Monday night at 7 p.m. in the Ministry Center. Kiwanis Club
The Clemmons Kiwanis Club meets at the Trinity Elms Health & Rehab facility at 7449 Fair Oaks Dr. in Clemmons. The club meets on the first and third Wednesdays at 7:30 a.m. Meeting lasts one hour. Call 703- 2921 for any other information.
Clemmons Civic Club
Clemmons Civic Club, one of the areas oldest community organizations, is now open to both men and women interested in serving the Clemmons community. Meeting are held in the civic club building on Middlebrook Drive the fourth Thursday of the month beginning with dinner at 6:30 p.m. followed by an informative program. Join a community post that supports our veterans and the town of Lewisville. Responsible for the veteran’s memorial and Memorial Day event at the Shallowford Square in Lewisville.
