WINSTON-SALEM — Forsyth Technical Community College will hold its annual open house from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 13, at the Robert L. Strickland Center at the Main Campus, 2100 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem.

This event is free and open to the public and offers the community the opportunity to learn about the variety of programs and academic options available at the college. Pre-registration is requested by completing the form found at http://www.forsythtech.edu/openhouse.

During the open house, visitors will have the opportunity to interact with representatives from academic programs, admissions, financial aid, and student support services during a program fair in the Dewitt Rhoades Conference Center in the Robert L. Strickland Center. In addition, representatives from the college’s Economic and Workforce Development division will be on hand to talk with attendees about many of the short-term training and job-preparedness certificate programs the college offers.

Workshops will be offered to help attendees learn more about financial aid and college transfer options. In addition, visitors can hear about Forsyth Tech’s robust campus life, including clubs and organizations. Campus tours will be available. Sessions in Spanish will also be offered. (See schedule below).

Area manufacturers will be on hand to speak with prospective students about potential careers they could pursue after graduation with a degree from Forsyth Tech.

“This year’s open house offers opportunities for students at all levels,” said Eddie Waddell, recruitment coordinator. “Whether you are preparing to graduate from high school or are looking to return to college for a second career, we offer more than 200 programs. In addition, we encourage parents to bring their children — we offer classes in early high school and early college. You can earn college credit while you are still in high school. It’s never too soon for the youth in our community to see first-hand all the exciting areas of study Forsyth Tech has to offer.”
