Friend Baptist Church recently broke ground on new educational wing.

The church was organized in June of 1988 and incorporated in June of 1997. The plans is for construction of a 10,200 square-foot addition and miscellaneous renovations to the existing sanctuary. This will increase the seating capacity to more than 400 and create much needed parking for current and future growth. The church has been on a pattern of growth for the past several years, creating a need for the additional space. The expected completion is expected to be around November or December.

Daron Osborne has served in a full-time capacity as senior pastor for the church since August of 2008. Osborne attended Trinity Baptist College in Jacksonville, Florida, and Crown College in Knoxville, Tennessee, and has been in the ministry for more than 20 years. Osborne’s theme for Friends Baptist this year is to “seek life” in all that the church does and to strengthen the community of Clemmons with the Gospel. The educational wing will help achieve that goal.
