Children’s programs:
Children’s Story times: Join in for great books, finger plays, songs and crafts. Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. for toddlers (ages 18 months to 3 years), Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. for preschoolers (ages 3-5).
Story Time at Night: Join in at 6 p.m. Monday, May 20, for stories, fingerplays, songs and activities. Open to all ages. Story Time at Night takes place on the fourth Monday of every month.
Chess Club: Come join in at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 2, to play the game of kings. Chess sets will be provided so bring your moves. Open to beginners and players with all levels of expertise. This program is open to ages 7-17.
Fandom Trivia: Know everything there is about your fandom? Show off your nerdy trivia knowledge at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, by banding together with other fandoms to create the ultimate trivia team. See which team knows the most about Harry Potter, Dr. Who, and the DC and Marvel universes. This program is for ages 10-17.
Mother’s Day Origami: The Clemmons Branch Library will be celebrating Mother’s Day with origami cards and flowers. Stop in to the children’s area starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, for this fun craft. This program will be led by Japanese Outreach Initiative Ambassador Nana Watanobe.
Adult Programs:
Book Lovers’ Club: The Clemmons Branch Library’s Book Lovers’ Club meets every first Monday of the month (unless the date falls on a holiday). Join this dynamic group for a great discussion of a selected title. Free and open to the public. The next meeting will be 6:30 p.m., May 6, with a discussion of “Glass Houses” by Louise Penny.
Clemmons Cookin’ Club: If you enjoy cooking, come join the Clemmons Cookin’ Club. Come in and choose a recipe from a pre-selected book and a copy will be made for you. Bring in the finished dish on the day of the meeting to share with other members. Expand your palate by tasting all the recipes, connect with people who enjoy cooking, and discuss the recipes. Call 336-703-2920 if you have questions. The program will last about one hour. The next meeting is at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, in the auditorium at 3554 Clemmons Road. The club will be making “spring cleaning recipes.” Visit or call the library for more information.
Seventh annual NC Camaro Gathering
The seventh annual NC Camaro Gathering will be held on May 30 through June 2 at the Village Inn Hotel and Event Center, 6205 Ramada Dr., Clemmons. Open to all generations of Camaros. Event includes silent auction, ticket raffle, door prizes, live concert and drag racing Friday night.
Bethlehem UMC to host Young at Heart social
Bethlehem United Methodist Church’s Young at Heart group will host a social including meal and program at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 1. The event will be in the church’s Family Life Center. Those attending should bring a small dessert to share, but the main course will be provided. Guest speaker will be Chad Tucker, native of Stokes County and award-winning anchor and reporter with Fox8-TV. Tucker is also host of the “Roy’s Folks” series. Forsyth Republican Women to meet
The Forsyth County Republican Women will hold their next meeting on Thursday, April 25, at the Mi Pueblo Restaurant at 644 S. Stratford Road in Winston-Salem. Those planning to eat should arrive at 5:30 p.m., and the meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. The speaker for the evening will be Aaron Berlin who is the chairman of the Forsyth County GOP. Newcomers and Neighbors meeting
Newcomers and Neighbors of the greater Winston-Salem area holds its monthly meeting on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Coffee and social time is at 9:45 a.m. with meeting to follow. Master Gardener plant sale
The Forsyth County Extension Master Gardener Volunteers will hold their annual plant sale at the Arboretum at Tanglewood Park from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. on Friday, May 3, and Saturday, May, 4. Enjoy the beauty of the gardens while making your way to one of Forsyth County’s premier plant sales. Selections include unique annuals and herbaceous perennials, as well as flowering shrubs and trees, such as native plants, milkweed, herbs, vegetables, and more.
This event is one of the major fundraisers for the Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Program. Proceeds from your purchase help maintain The Arboretum and Gardens at Tanglewood Park and fund the monthly Adult Education lecture series held at the Arboretum office throughout the year.

Jam sessions
Farmington Community Center at 1723 Farmington Road in Mocksville hosts a country music and gospel only jam session every Thursday night from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The center also hosts a bluegrass jam session every Monday night from 7-9 p.m. Bring whatever instrument you play and join the fun. Cover charge for listeners $2, players are free.
GriefShare program at Clemmons UMC
Clemmons United Methodist Church will have a series of GriefShare, a grief support group every Monday night at 7 p.m. in the Ministry Center. Victory on the Frontline Church
Coffee, juice and pastries are served every Sunday morning at 9:45 a.m. Children’s and adult Sunday school starts at 10 a.m.
Kiwanis Club
The Clemmons Kiwanis Club meets at the Trinity Elms Health & Rehab facility at 7449 Fair Oaks Dr. in Clemmons. The club meets on the first and third Wednesdays at 7:30 a.m. Meeting lasts one hour. Call 703- 2921 for any other information.
Clemmons Civic Club
Clemmons Civic Club, one of the areas oldest community organizations, is now open to both men and women interested in serving the Clemmons community. Meeting are held in the civic club building on Middlebrook Drive the fourth Thursday of the month beginning with dinner at 6:30 p.m. followed by an informative program. Lewisville American Legion Post 522
Join a community post that supports our veterans and the town of Lewisville. Responsible for the veteran’s memorial and Memorial Day event at the Shallowford Square in Lewisville. The Clemmons Food Pantry, now located at 2585 Old Glory Road, Suite 109, Clemmons, is open Tuesdays from 4 to 6 p.m., Thursdays from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 to 11 a.m. People may receive services or drop off donations at these times. www.clemmonsfoodpantry.org
Cross Stitching at Shiloh Lutheran
If you enjoy needle crafting, knit, cross-stitch, crochet and non-sewing blanket projects, consider joining the Busy Hands Group, every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Located at Shiloh Lutheran Church fellowship hall, 703 Lewisville-Vienna Rd, Lewisville, NC 27023. Items donated to sick, needy and shut-ins.
