Children’s programs
Family Storytime — Wednesdays at 10:15 a.m. Stories, fingerplays, songs and activities. Recommended for children aged 18 months to 5 years and their caregivers, but all ages are welcome.
Lego Book Club, Theme: Outer Space — Saturday, June 15, at 11 a.m. Grades K-5 (Children under 8 years must attend with a parent.)
Note: The larger Duplo Legos will be available for younger children attending with siblings.
Children share a favorite book that they have read and then build Lego creations based off of their books. Children may bring a book to share on the theme or just one they love. The books do not have to be about Legos or Lego characters.
Reading Buddies — Mondays at 2 p.m. from June 17- July 29. Children are paired with teen volunteers to work on their reading skills. They read together for 20 minutes. Call 336-703-2940 to register for a time slot.
Lewisville Fire Department Visit at the Lewisville Branch Library — Tuesday, June 18, at 9:30 a.m. Meet the Lewisville Fire Department’s brave firefighters and see their fire truck. The firefighters will explain their equipment and discuss fire safety.
Children will get to use a hose to put out a pretend fire. For all ages. The fire truck will be parked at the G. Galloway Reynolds Community Center across from the library on the parking lot side.
Write to Your Mayor — June 24 until July 3. Participate in local government this summer by writing a letter to the mayor of Lewisville, Mike Horn. You may drop off your letters at the Lewisville Branch Public Library from June 24 until July 3. The collected letters will be presented to the mayor at the Lewisville Branch Library’s Meet Your Mayor Event on July 3 at 2 p.m.
Big Bang Boom: Children’s Band — Tuesday, June 25, at noon. The band Big Bang Boom will be playing at the Shallowford Square Park in Lewisville. Dancing, singing, and fun for all ages.
Sensory-friendly Lego Hour — Wednesday, June 26, from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Build with Legos in a sensory-friendly and supportive environment. Ages 5-11. Please register in advance by calling 336-703-2940 or going to http://www.forsyth.cc/library/Lewisville/article.aspx?NewsID=23771.
Teen programs:
Money Talk for Teens: Understanding Credit — Thursday, June 13 from 4-5 p.m. Learn all you need to know about credit from Amanda Joyce, the branch manager of the Wells Fargo Bank in Lewisville. This program is recommended for rising 9-12 graders, but everyone is welcome. This program is free and open to the public. For more information, call 336-703-2940.
Teen Anime Club — Friday, June 21, from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Special Activity: Learn about life in Japan from Nana Watanobe, Japan Outreach Initiative Coordinator. Grades 6-12.
Registration required to participate in any food-related activities.
The Teen Anime Club meets to watch anime, draw manga, and to do special activities related to Japanese culture throughout the year.

Tuesdays at Two Book Club — Tuesday, June 4, at 2 p.m. The Tuesday at Two book club meets the first Tuesday of each month at 2 p.m. This month, the group will discuss “Daughter of a Daughter of a Queen” by Sarah Bird.
Witchy-Washi Tape Crafters — Thursday, June 6, at 10 a.m. Meet other crafters and learn all the fun uses of washi tape.
a/rthouse in the burbs — Saturday, June 8, at 2 p.m. Monthly film series with a/perture theater. Please call for film information.
Homesteaders Series: Wire Wrap Jewelry Making — Monday, June 10, at 11 a.m. Learn how to craft a semi-precious stone pendant with the wire wrapping technique. All supplies provided. Call 336-703-2940 to register.
Lewisville Craft Club — Tuesday, June 11, at 6:30 p.m. Join in for the monthly evening Craft Club. All supplies will be provided by the instructor. The club will work on a beaded ring at the April meeting. To register, email siskaproperties@msn.com.
Creative Writing Group — Wednesdays, June 12 and 26, at 1:30 p.m. Meets at least twice a month on Wednesdays. Meet other writers, share your work, talk about craft, trade publishing tips, and do fun writing exercises. A welcoming space for writers to meet on a monthly basis. Color & Coffee Group — Friday, June 14 and 21, at 10 a.m. Relax and relieve some stress by dropping in to do some coloring with provided sheets, pencils and gel pens or bring your own. Coffee and hot chocolate will be available.
Tai Chi for Beginners — Friday, June 14, at 10 a.m. Experience the benefits of this free monthly free tai chi class with Master Lijun Tang.
Tech Help — Friday, June 14, 4:30-5:30 p.m. All ages welcome. Need help figuring out how to do something on a computer or with your device? Teen volunteers will be available to help with your computer questions. There will be laptops available or you may bring in your own device.
Local History Lecture Series: Our Founder Lewis Laugenour — Monday, June 17, at 6 p.m. Lewisville Historical Society President Merrikay Brown will share the intriguing story of town founder Lewis Laugenour.
Jane & Tea Book Club — Thursday, June 20, at 10 a.m. A Jane Austen book club that reads original works, associated biographies and other nonfiction, as well as Austen read-alikes. This month the group will discuss “Jane Austen, The Secret Radical” by Helena Kelly.
Yoga for Beginners — Friday, June 21, at 11 a.m. Join in for a free hour-long session of yoga with Lisa Kushner, a certified instructor. This session is primarily for beginners but all levels of experience are welcome to attend.
Piedmont/Triad Caregiver’s Support Group — Monday, June 24, at 10 a.m. This group meets once a month to offer a safe place to discuss the distresses, challenges, and rewards of providing care for a loved one. For more information, contact the library at 336-703-2940.

Friends of the Lewisville Library Book Club — Tuesday, June 25, at 6:30 p.m. The Friends of the Lewisville Library invite adults to participate in interesting discussions of timely titles. This month the group will discuss “The President is Missing” by Bill Clinton and James Patterson.
Handcraft Happy Hour — Wednesday, June 26, at 3 p.m. Calling all beaders, weavers, knitters, crocheters and handcrafters of any kind. Bring your current handcraft project and let’s create beauty together in community.
