Fall is in the air as the Titans welcome the cooler weather at West’s beautiful outdoor campus. For many seniors, deadlines for college applications are looming in the coming week, particularly the Oct. 15 deadline for many Early Action applicants. Despite it, seniors and underclassmen alike are gearing up for homecoming next week. Here’s what’s going on at West this week.

Last week, the varsity football team secured a win over Page High School with a final score of 26-7. On Friday, the Titans will take on the East Forsyth Eagles in Kernersville at 7:30 p.m. Loyal student fans will be sporting their red, white, and blue for America night.

Today, the girl’s varsity field hockey team will take on one of West’s biggest rivals: the Reagan High School Raiders. The game will be held at Reagan and will begin at 7 p.m. At home, the boy’s varsity soccer team will take on the Raiders at 7 p.m. as well. On Monday, the girl’s varsity golf team will be participating in the CPC 4A Conference tournament at Maple Chase golf and country club. Good luck to all these amazing Titan athletes.

On Friday, UNC Asheville be visiting West to talk to prospective students about this liberal arts college in the mountains. Next week, students can look forward to the visits of Furman University on Monday, Oct. 14, College of Charleston on Tuesday, Oct. 15, and N.C. Central University on Wednesday, Oct. 16. All of these events will either take place in the media center or the café lobby.

From academics to fall sports, the Titans are making this school year a great one!
