Plan a well-crafted weekend in Winston-Salem. Piedmont Craftsmen’s 56th Fair will be held Nov. 23-24 at the Benton Convention Center in downtown Winston-Salem. Called the “Grande Dame of Craft Fairs” by the Winston-Salem Journal, Piedmont Craftsmen consistently attracts artisans who are masters of their craft, producing and selling work that is distinctive and innovative.

Visitors to the fair can watch artists demonstrating their techniques throughout the fair. Some artists demonstrate in their booths.  Other demonstrations, including clay wheelthrowing and handbuilding, metal forming, basketry, and the traditional paper cutting art of scherrenschnitte, are scheduled throughout the weekend. A demonstration schedule will be available on Piedmont Craftsmen’s website before the fair.

The food concessions available inside the exhibition hall will feature a limited menu of lunch and snack items, as well as local craft beers. Live acoustical music will add to the festive atmosphere. Our State Magazine’s annual Made in N.C. Awards event will also take place that weekend, hosted by Mast General Store, just a short walk away. Hotel packages at the Kimpton Cardinal and Historic Brookstown Inn are available for one or two night stays.

Admission is $8 for adults, $7 for senior citizens, students and groups. Children under 12 are free with an adult. Weekend passes are $12.

Event hours are: Saturday, Nov. 23, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sunday, Nov. 24, noon-5 p.m.

Parking available at Cherry Street Parking Deck, 527 N. Cherry St, Winston-Salem. For information about hotel packages and more, call 336-725-1516 or visit piedmontcraftsmen.org .
