With fall break in sight next week, students and staff are wrapping up one of November’s few full weeks of school. Activities ranging from clubs to sports are making out for a busy week for Titans. Here’s what the Titans have been up to.
On Friday, the varsity football team will take on the Reagan High School Raiders in the first playoff game of the season. The West Wackos will be wisely bundling up with the theme of Pajama Night. The game will be held in the village and will begin at 7:30 p.m. Come out and support the Titans in this pivotal game.
West’s Drama Department is putting on three shows of Shakespeare’s famous “Macbeth” in the Anderson Performing Arts Center (APAC). Though opening night was yesterday, there will still be two more shows, one tonight and one Saturday, starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 at the door. Taking place in the 1920s, this version of Macbeth is sure to impress. Ready to take the stage is senior Sarah Sawyer who will be playing the role of Lady Macbeth.
“I’m really looking forward to playing Lady M because she’s a lot different than anything I’ve ever played before and it’s been super fun to be pushed out of my comfort zone,” Sawyer said.
On Monday, West will be hosting a Military Talks Career Day in which the five main branches of the military — Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard — will be speaking to students about career paths in the military after high school. This event will take place in the media center during all four class periods; any students interested should sign up for a class period in Student Services.
Go, Titans!
