Couriering the area this week in 1974 — The Lewisville Roller Mill was allowed to stay open after alterations to its equipment met the Occupational Safety and Health Agency’s standards.

Quartermaster Thomas N. Vincent, son of Dr. and Mrs. Clark E. Vincent of Clemmons, was promoted to 3^rd class petty officer. Vincent was serving on the Coast Guard Ice Breaker “Westwind.”

Mr. and Mrs. Tom Fredericks, of Clemmons, attended the ninth annual homecoming at NC Wesleyan College held on campus in Rocky Mount.

West Forsyth Titans boys varsity football game failed to register a win of the year as they increased their losing streak to five games with losses to Edgewood and North Forsyth.

Mrs. L. A. Wood, of Clemmons, was installed as president of the Junior Woman’s Club of Winston-Salem as part of the club’s annual meeting and awards banquet.

Mr. and Mrs. Ismael Goco’s home in Lewisville was featured as the Clemmons Courier “Holiday House.”

L.W. Clinard, of Clemmons, had been harvesting Jersey Wakefield winter cabbage at Rock Hill Farm in Clemmons.

West Forsyth’s girls’ varsity basketball team captured impressive wins over East Forsyth, Edgewood and North Forsyth to remain undefeated in county competition with a 6-0 record.

The West Forsyth Senior High School Anchor Club filled 80 stockings with candy, pens, pencils and different surprises for the underprivileged children.

Staff Sergeant Robald R. Alexander, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Alexander, of Clemmons, graduated from the Air Force Communications Service Noncommissioned Officer Leadership School at Richards-Gebaur AFB, Missouri.

Gail Lynn Stewart, daughter of Mrs. Ann S. Stewart and Mr. Carlton L. Stewart, graduated from Catawba College.

Rebecca Ann Stewart, daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Robert L. Stewart of Clemmons and a senior at the University of Mississippi School of Nursing, earned a perfect 4.0 grade average and received the Magnolia Chapter, American Business Women’s Association Scholarship at the school’s first annual awards day.
