No children’s story times: There will be no children’s story times for the rest of 2019. Story times will resume in January 2020, with toddler story time on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. and preschool story time on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.
Papercrafturday: Join the Clemmons Branch Library all day on Saturday, Dec. 28, to create papercrafts. Try your hand at origami, collage, or scrapbooking. Find inspiration from a collection of crafting books or create from your imagination. All supplies provided. All ages welcome.
Sensory-Friendly Saturday Movie: On Saturday, Dec. 28, at 1:30 p.m., all are welcome to join in the library auditorium to watch a movie. There will be low lighting (dim lights will remain on), the sound will be on but turned down so that it is not too loud, and English subtitles will be turned on. You are free to move around and make noise during the films in a judgement-free zone.
Service Saturday: Need to earn service hours? Join the Clemmons Branch Library at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4, to complete a service project for the community and earn an hour of service time for school.
College Prep Series — Summer Planning: Join the Clemmons Branch Library at noon on Saturday, Jan. 4, as a representative from Collegewise discusses how to plan your summer so that not only will it provide a positive impact on their college applications, but also still be enjoyable.
Book Lovers’ Club: The Clemmons Branch Library’s Book Lovers’ Club meets every first Monday of the month (unless the date falls on a holiday). Join this dynamic group for a great discussion of a selected title. Free and open to the public. The next meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 6 with a discussion of “Still Life” by Louise Penny.
Clemmons Cookin’ Club: If you enjoy cooking, come join the Clemmons Cookin’ Club. Come in and choose a recipe from a pre-selected book and a copy will be made for you. Bring in the finished dish on the day of the meeting to share with other members. Expand your palate by tasting all the recipes, connect with people who enjoy cooking, and discuss the recipes. Call the library at 336- 703-2920 if you have questions. The program will last about one hour. The next meeting is at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 15, in the library’s auditorium at 3554 Clemmons Road. Visit or call the library for more information.
Southwest Forsyth Little League Baseball reunion
The original SWFLL (South Fork, Clemmons, Lewisville, Jonestown) Little League baseball is having a reunion on Jan. 25, 2020. Any player, manager, coach, board member or guests that played/participated in the 1970s thru the early 1980s are cordially invited and encouraged to attend. The event will be held in the Ivy Room at The Village Inn in Clemmons. Feel free to bring any memorabilia, programs or souvenirs with you. Starting time is 5 p.m. until, and the cost is $8 per person to cover the venue expense, $11 per person if paying at the door. To prepay and register, send funds to email@example.com. Introduction to West Forsyth High School
“Explore the Possibilities” introduction to West Forsyth High School program will be held at 6 p.m. on Jan. 9 in the Anderson Performing Arts Center Auditorium. Rising freshman in the class of 2024 and those that will be new to West Forsyth are invited to attend. Come learn about the offerings West has in academics, athletics and extracurricular activities.
Rotary Club of Western Forsyth

Newcomers and Neighbors meeting
Newcomers and Neighbors of the greater Winston-Salem area holds its monthly meeting on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Coffee and social time is at 9:45 a.m. with meeting to follow. Farmington Community Center at 1723 Farmington Road in Mocksville hosts a country music and gospel only jam session every Thursday night from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The center also hosts a bluegrass jam session every Monday night from 7-9 p.m. Bring whatever instrument you play and join the fun. Cover charge for listeners $2, players are free.
The Clemmons Kiwanis Club meets at the Trinity Elms Health & Rehab facility at 7449 Fair Oaks Dr. in Clemmons. The club meets on the first and third Wednesdays at 7:30 a.m. Meeting lasts one hour. Call 703- 2921 for any other information.
Clemmons Civic Club
Clemmons Civic Club, one of the areas oldest community organizations, is now open to both men and women interested in serving the Clemmons community. Meeting are held in the civic club building on Middlebrook Drive the fourth Thursday of the month beginning with dinner at 6:30 p.m. followed by an informative program. Lewisville American Legion Post 522
Join a community post that supports our veterans and the town of Lewisville. Responsible for the veteran’s memorial and Memorial Day event at the Shallowford Square in Lewisville. The Clemmons Food Pantry, now located at 2585 Old Glory Road, Suite 109, Clemmons, is open Tuesdays from 4 to 6 p.m., Thursdays from 3:30-5 p.m. and 6-7:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 to 11 a.m. People may receive services or drop off donations at these times. www.clemmonsfoodpantry.org
Cross Stitching at Shiloh Lutheran
