Shovan Monroe named December 2019 Clemmons Rotary Student of the Month

Shovan Monroe was recognized on Dec. 18 as the Rotary Club of Clemmons Student of the Month for December.
According to West Forsyth High School: “Shovan is very active in our drama and choral departments. In both, she has become a leader and a great role model to others. Her strength is her character and heart. She loves others unconditionally. She always finds the good in others and helps others without asking. She is always there for anyone, despite her own challenges. Her faith helps her through tough times, keeping her optimistic. Her positive attitude is always contagious, making everyone around her smile. She is always courageous, positive and helpful toward others.”
In addition to her academic accomplishments at West Forsyth, she has been active in:
• Plays and musicals — has participated in all aspects of play and musical productions at West since freshman year
• Titan trainer — Captain for freshman orientation, working right under the teacher facilitator of the program
• A Titan trainer for orientation for the past three years
• French Club — Treasurer junior year and now vice-president, helping to make decisions about club activities
• Drama Club — Public relations coordinator junior year, and now fundraiser responsible for raising money for the department
• Crosby Scholars — actively involved in community service
Monroe will be attending college this fall at East Carolina University.
