Local students named to dean’s, president’s lists at University of Alabama

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A total of 12,050 students enrolled during the 2019 fall semester at The University of Alabama were named to the dean’s list with an academic record of 3.5 or above or the president’s list with an academic record of 4.0 (all A’s). The dean’s and president’s lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or to undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

Samford University announced dean’s list

HOMEWOOD, AL — Samford University recently recognized local students to the dean’s list for the fall 2019 semester.

• Kinley Hales of Clemmons

• Catherine Sluder of Clemmons

• Kathryn Budd of Advance

To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework. The dean’s list is the highest academic recognition given by the school at the end of each semester.

Local Newberry College student from Mocksville named to dean’s list

NEWBERRY, S.C. — Newberry College has announced that 390 students have qualified for the dean’s list for the fall 2019 semester, including McKenzie Barneycastle of Mocksville.

Students receiving recognition on the dean’s list at Newberry College must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale during the semester.
