WINSTON-SALEM — Novant Health is pleased to announce that its nurse residency program achieved accreditation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Practice Transition Accreditation Program. With the recognition, the program becomes the 133rd system in the world to receive this honor and the second in the state for acute care.
“We are proud to be recognized for our nursing residency program at Novant Health,” said Denise Mihal, executive vice president and chief nursing and clinical operations officer for Novant Health. “This distinction will enable us to continue to attract and retain talented nurse graduates, develop and enhance our evidence-based program, and move Novant Health forward in delivering safe, quality care to the patients we serve.”
Novant Health’s nurse residency program allows new graduate nurses time to gradually assume the duties and responsibilities that accompany the nursing role.
