With e-learning ending last week, students are feeling the relief of summer as this odd school year comes to a close. Though summer may not be what many students anticipated, many are still headed to the beach as public beaches begin to reopen and get jobs for the summer. Let’s see what else the Titans are up to.
Starting today and ending next Thursday, West will be holding drive-thru style events to return and pick up items like textbooks, Chromebooks, calculators, etc. Today and Friday are designated for seniors, while each other day will be available for underclassmen and specific subject areas such as JROTC, band/orchestra, and athletics. Be sure to refer to the schedule sent out to student emails for specific dates and times.
West’s graduation ceremony will be held virtually at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 11. This exciting event will be available as a live stream and be on Cable 2. Seniors are encouraged to maintain traditional dress code including wearing their cap and gown for the event. Though it won’t be a traditional graduation, it will certainly be a time to celebrate the Class of 2020’s accomplishments over the past four years.
Seniors can also look forward to receiving their diplomas from Monday, June 15, to Monday, June 22. Similar to this week’s item return, diploma pick-up will be held drive-thru style where parents and friends stay in their vehicles while students receive their diplomas and are allotted 15 minutes to walk across the stage and take photos.
Have a great summer, and as always, go Titans!
