Mitchell named to Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s spring 2020 dean’s list
WORCESTER, MA — Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) has announced that Mason Mitchell, of Clemmons, a member of the class of 2023 majoring in robotics engineering and mathematical sciences, was named to the university’s dean’s list for academic excellence for the spring 2020 semester.
The criteria for the WPI dean’s list differs from that of most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI defines the dean’s list by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects.
Steele named to Mercer University dean’s list
MACON, Ga. — Mercer University recently announced that Nya Steele, of Clemmons, a junior in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, has been named to the dean’s list.
Hiatt graduates from the University of Utah
SALT LAKE CITY, UT — Jenny Hiatt, of Clemmons, graduated from the University of Utah on April 30 with a degree in pharmacy DPH.
Samford University announces dean’s list
BIRMINGHAM, AL — Samford University recognizes 1,759 students named to the 2020 spring semester dean’s list.
To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade-point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework. The dean’s list is the highest academic recognition given by the school at the end of each semester.

Local students named to Pensacola Christian College’s president’s, dean’s lists
PENSACOLA, FL — The following local students were named to the president’s list by Dr. Troy Shoemaker, president of Pensacola Christian College, for academic achievement during the 2020 spring semester:

• Nicolas Talbert of Advance
Students named on the president’s list earned a semester grade point average of 3.90 or higher.
