Businesses in Forsyth County can now request kits with free masks, gloves and sanitary supplies from the Reopen Forsyth PPE Kit Program.
The PPE kits can be requested through the COVID-19 page on Forsyth County government’s website at forsyth.cc/covidupdate/#pperequest . The kits will have both reusable and disposable masks, gloves, hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes. There’s a limit of one PPE kit per business while supplies last. The size of the kits will depend on how many employees a business has.

To qualify, businesses must be locally owned and operated in Forsyth County, have been impacted by COVID-19 Stay at Home Orders, and require in-person interaction with the public

Once they apply, businesses will be contacted by a partnering agency to confirm qualification and schedule pickup for a PPE kit. Partnering agencies include Forsyth County, all municipalities in Forsyth County, Greater Winston-Salem, Inc., the Kernersville Chamber of Commerce, and the Lewisville-Clemmons Chamber of Commerce.

The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners allocated $300,000 of state Coronavirus Relief Fund money to fund the Reopen Forsyth PPE Kit Program. UniFirst donated 10,000 masks and hand sanitizer to the program.
An online survey was conducted to determine the PPE needs of local businesses. Distribution began on Tuesday for businesses that participated in the survey, with online requests being fulfilled after that.
