Ethan Campbell of West Forsyth’s baseball team was named the winner of the Mark Kinney Scholarship Award for 2020.

Campbell plans to attend Appalachian State University as coach Kinney did. He plans on majoring in molecular biology.

Campbell did the following during his high school years:
• played in the baseball program for four years
• worked a part-time job
• volunteered in his youth group, Camp Merriwood, Ronald McDonald House, Brenner’s Children Hospital and at Novant Health
• National Honor Society
• Science Honor Society
• Math Honor Society
• Governor’s School
• honor roll all four years at West
“Coach Kinney would be so proud of you and how you have represented yourself, your family and this baseball program,” coach Brad Bullard said.

Caden Parry is this year’s Erik Walker Scholarship winner.

“This young man is a true example of a student-athlete and a tremendous teammate,” Bullard said. “Caden is one of the most selfless players we have had the opportunity to coach.”

Caden will be attending Furman this year and plans to major in biology.
