In 2019, the Lewisville-Clemmons Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Clemmons Community Foundation and a team of hardworking council members, launched the Leadership Lewisville-Clemmons (LLC) program. Generous sponsorship from Novant Health, Marzano Capital Group, Allegacy Federal Credit Union, and Wells Fargo made it all possible. Additionally, the first year program featured a dynamic inaugural of professionals who were bold enough to take a leap of faith into unchartered territory. Their invaluable input has made it possible for the program to grow and improve for future classes.
While the 2020 program did come to a bit of an abrupt end thanks to COVID, the program was still well-received and those who participated have proven to be enthusiastic supporters and advocates, including several who have since joined the planning council.
And now, the program is planning for the second year. After careful consideration, the LLC Council decided that the wisest course of action will be to delay the second year start date until January 2021. Every program day will be designed with the hope of meeting in person, with an appropriate amount of social distancing. But, a Plan B option is being developed in the event the program needs to go online.
This program is an important part of our community. It is designed to help those with a vested interest in Lewisville and Clemmons to understand the ins and outs of the communities and develop key leadership skills. Another primary objective is to grow the community network.
Registration for Leadership Lewisville-Clemmons 2021 is open; the application can be found at TinyURL.com/ApplyLLC2021. The cost is $675 to Lewisville-Clemmons Chamber members and $800 for non-members. Tuition is inclusive of training and interactive programming for each day, leadership assessment tools, and a graduation reception. The application period will close on Nov. 13 and applicants will be notified by Nov. 30 about their placement in the program.
