COVID-19 daily briefing — Nov. 23

There are 148 new cases reported today. Over the weekend, there were 186 new cases and one death reported on Saturday, and 192 new cases reported on Sunday. There have been 12,249 laboratory-confirmed cases and 157 deaths in Forsyth County. All cases reported by the Forsyth County Department of Public Health are Forsyth County residents. Of the 12,249, 9,925 are presumed recovered. The case count is subject to change throughout the day but will only be reported once per day in the daily briefing.

The public health director will provide a detailed briefing at 2 p.m. at the beginning of the Dec. 3 board of county commissioners meeting, which will be conducted remotely. The public can listen to and watch the meeting on WSTV-13 or go to

The Forsyth County Department of Public Health will host the following no-cost COVID-19 community testing events this week:

• Mondays at Winston Lake YMCA, 901 Waterworks Road, from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

• Tuesday, Nov. 24 at WSTA, 100 W. 5th Street, from 4 p.m.-7 p.m.

• Wednesday, Nov. 25 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 916 E. 12th Street, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
