Lovefeast at Clemmons Moravian

Every year on Christmas Eve, Clemmons Moravian Church welcomes the community inside its sanctuary doors to participate in three lovefeast services.  Over the years, this service has become a favorite tradition for many families as they celebrate Christmas. The sight of the larger-than-life star shining in the rafters, the scent of the hot coffee and lovefeast buns, the smell of the beeswax candles and the sound of beautiful music echoing from the balcony all bring familiar feelings of the Christmas season. While safety precautions make it impossible to gather in the sanctuary this year, Clemmons Moravian Church will be holding a virtual livestream Christmas Eve Lovefeast service on at 5 p.m. Dec. 24, on its Facebook page. To make this service feel as much like the in-person event as possible and to reach out to the community, the church will be providing lovefeast buns and candles to the community. Anyone interested in picking up buns and candles for the service must register by Dec. 11 at www.clemmonsmoravian.org to reserve the number of buns and candles (limit of 10) and the date they will be picked up. Pick up will be at Clemmons Moravian Church, 3536 Spangenberg Ave. in Clemmons in front of the sanctuary on from 5-7 p.m. on Dec. 23 and from 11 a.m.-1 p.m on Dec. 24. A community offering is traditionally collected each year at the lovefeast services and given to local non profit agencies. Anyone interested in donating to this community offering may do so at the time of pick up or by dropping off a donation at the church office no later than Dec. 24. Mailed donations should be sent to Clemmons Moravian Church, PO Box 730, Clemmons, NC, 27012 and postmarked no later than Dec. 15.
