COVID-19 daily briefing — Dec. 10

There are 206 new cases and two deaths reported since yesterday’s briefing. There have been 15,686 laboratory-confirmed cases and 178 deaths in Forsyth County. All cases reported by the Forsyth County Department of Public Health are Forsyth County residents. Of the 15,686, 12,848 are presumed recovered. The case count is subject to change throughout the day but will only be reported once per day in the daily briefing.

The public health director will provide a detailed briefing at 2 p.m. at the beginning of the Dec. 10 board of county commissioners meeting, which will be conducted remotely. The public can listen to and watch the meeting on WSTV-13 or go to https://www.cityofws.org/493/WSTV-13

Public Health Director Joshua Swift commented,“The Forsyth County Department of Public Health will host the following no-cost COVID-19 community testing events this week:

• Saturday, Dec. 12, at Gate 9 of the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds, 421 27th St NW, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
