The spring season is often associated with things coming back to life. While this metaphor is more often about things in nature, the same can be said about West Forsyth’s campus this season. With teachers, students, a new principal and a fresh sports season back in-person, there is plenty to look forward to this week in the village.
First and foremost, the Titans will welcome their new principal, Kevin Spainhour, to West this week. Spainhour looks to make the most of the remainder of the school year, and he is a firm believer in community and positive momentum. He was revered as a great principal at West Stokes High School, where he served prior to taking this opportunity at West.
The third and fourth cohorts of students returning will be in-person this week. The third cohort was in-person Monday and Tuesday, and the fourth cohort returned in-person Thursday and Friday. Last week, the first and second cohorts successfully returned to school, and while many students are opting to continue virtual learning from home, the numbers of students back in-person will increase as the year nears its end.
The Titans football team opened up the season against Oak Grove last week and came away victorious, winning 44-21. This was their first game of six regular season games they will play this season. They look to turn their first win into their first win streak this Friday, against Page.
