Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools will reopen the application period for students who want to attend The Virtual Academy during the 2021-2022 school year. When the new year begins, this will be the only option for students who want to learn remotely. Individual schools will only offer traditional in-person instruction next year.
“Our students love Virtual Academy and online learning,” said Dr. Anissia Scales, principal of WS/FCS Virtual Academy. “They love the pace and focus of learning without being in a brick-and-mortar classroom. Teachers appreciate the academic content and this has actually allowed them to make even deeper connections with their students. They have to think out of the box to form relationships with their students while still fostering a classroom environment.”
Students in kindergarten through grade eight can apply March 25 to April 1. Grades 9-12 can apply between March 25 and April 9. Applications will be accepted online at this link.
WS/FCS Virtual Academy is designed to provide students with a personalized education option that offers virtual experiences that are flexible, rigorous, and innovative. You can learn more about Virtual Academy on school’s web page.
