Several North Carolina health systems are reminding patients and visitors to continue taking precautionary measures that are known to help limit the spread of COVID-19 such as masking and social distancing while visiting hospitals and medical clinics, regardless of COVID-19 vaccination status. This reminder is in response to the first set of public health recommendations issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on March 8 for people who are fully vaccinated for COVID-19. These recommendations apply only to non-healthcare settings.
Visitor restrictions are still in place at area health systems, and eligible visitors will still need to complete a routine COVID-19 screening assessment upon arrival.
This is a joint reminder from regional health systems including Atrium Health, Cone Health, Novant Health and Wake Forest Baptist Health.
