COVID-19 vaccinations available at Health Department, Schools and Axe Throwing League

The Forsyth County Department of Public Health is holding appointments for anyone age 12 or older for COVID-19 vaccinations this week at the Public Health Department, at public schools and even at the Backyard Axe Throwing League, where free axe throws are included with vaccination.
Appointments are available for the Public Health Department, 799 N. Highland Ave., at Bit.Ly/FCNCCovidVacci
A community vaccination event will be held Friday, May 21, 4 p.m.-7 p.m., at the Backyard Axe Throwing League, 109 W 9th Street, Winston Salem. Parking will be in the Winston Junction Market parking lot off Trade Street. Those who receive a vaccination will get 10 free throws. Registration is available at http://bit.ly/
A walk-up vaccination event will be held at Piedmont Circle, 1130 29th Street, at the basketball courts there Saturday, May 22, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
There will also be vaccination clinics at schools:
- Thursday, May 20, Mineral Springs Middle School & Northwest Middle School, 1-2 p.m. for students and 2:30-4 p.m. for the general public.
- Friday, May 21, Carver High School & Parkland High School, 2:50-3:40 p.m. for students and 4-6 p.m. for the general public.

Vaccinations are free and no ID or insurance is needed. The single-dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine, for ages 18 and up, will be an option while supplies last. The two-dose Pfizer vaccine, for ages 12 and up, will be used for all other vaccinations.
Those who received their first dose at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds will still receive their second dose there.
