COVID vaccinations available at Dash game, schools, flea market and more

Forsyth County Department of Public Health will be giving COVID vaccinations before Tuesday’s Dash game, at several schools, Cook’s Flea Market, Happy Hill Reunion, Salvation Army in Kernersville, the Backyard Axe Throwing League and the health department this week.

Public Health staff will be offering vaccinations at several locations next week. Walk-ups will be accepted at the following events:

  • Tuesday, June 83 p.m.7:15 p.m., Truist Stadium, 951 Ballpark Way, register in advance at 336-714-2287 for discounted tickets for that evenings’ Dash game that include free hotdogs 
  • Wednesday, June 9, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Salvation Army (Kernersville), 130 E. Mountain St., Kernersville
  • Thursday, June 10, Mineral Springs Middle School & Northwest Middle School, 2:30-4 p.m. (vaccinations for students in those schools will be held earlier in the day)
  • Friday, June 11, Carver High School & Parkland High School, 4-6 p.m. (vaccinations for students in those schools will be held earlier in the day)
  • Friday, June 11, 4 p.m.-7 p.m., Backyard Axe Throwing League, 109 W. 9th St., Winston Salem. Parking will be in the Winston Junction Market parking lot off Trade Street. Those who receive a vaccination will get 10 free throws.
  • Saturday, June 12, 1 p.m.-6:30 p.m. Happy Hill Reunion, William C. Sims Recreation Center campus
  • Saturday, June 12, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Cooks Flea Market, 4250 Patterson Ave.

Appointments and walk-ups are also accepted at the Public Health Department, 799 N. Highland Ave., for COVID-19 vaccinations: 

  • Appointments are available at Bit.Ly/FCNCCovidVaccine or by calling 336-582-0800 from 8 a.m. -5 p.m. MondayFriday.
  • Walk-ups will be accepted MondayWednesday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Thursday 9:30 a.m.-8 p.m., Friday 8 a.m.-1 p.m. and Saturday 9-11 a.m. The vaccination clinic will be closed for lunch from noon-1 p.m. Monday-Thursday.

Vaccinations are free and no ID or insurance is needed. The single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine, for ages 18 and up, will be an option while supplies last. The two-dose Pfizer vaccine, for ages 12 and up, is also currently available.
