WINSTON-SALEM — Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County will host a grand opening for its new ReStore on Saturday, June 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Activities will include a ribbon cutting by the Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce, food trucks, live broadcast on WTOB, giveaways and chalk painting demonstrations.

The new ReStore, located at 2551 Peters Creek Parkway in Winston-Salem, is Habitat Forsyth’s fourth. With a high visibility location across from the I-40 interchange, Habitat estimates the store will generate enough revenue to fund two Habitat homes a year.

Habitat ReStores accept donations of new and gently used, resalable furniture, appliances, accessories and building supplies. The items are resold at prices lower than retail stores, and revenues go toward Habitat’s mission of helping local families purchase quality, affordable homes. Since its founding in 1985, Habitat Forsyth has built, remodeled or repaired more than 500 homes for local families.

In honor of the grand opening, the new store and Habitat’s other ReStores at 608 Coliseum Drive in Winston-Salem, 619 North Main Street in Kernersville and 6499 Shallowford Road in Lewisville will have additional discounts on select items on Saturday.

The Peters Creek Store will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. A full list of grand opening activities is below. More information about all Habitat ReStores is available at habitatforsyth.org/restore.
