Suspect charged with murder

FORSYTH COUNTY — The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) has charged William Coleman Scott with murder in the death of his mother.
During a joint investigation with the Winston-Salem Police Department following a shooting at their District 1 Office on North Point Boulevard that occurred on Monday, June 14, investigators went to the residence of family members of the suspect located at 1708 Curraghmore Road, in Clemmons. Investigators entered the residence where a deceased adult female was located from an apparent gunshot wound.
FCSO investigators immediately began their investigation and identified the deceased female as Kimberly Kyle Scott, 62. After review of the case with the District Attorney’s Office, a warrant for arrest for murder was issued and served on William Coleman Scott, 26, who was already incarcerated at the Forsyth County Detention Center.
Scott has a preliminary hearing scheduled for July 1 and he was confined to the Forsyth County Detention Center without bond.
