Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools will offer several opportunities for interested applicants to learn more about job opportunities and employment. Career fairs and webinars throughout July will focus on a variety of departments and positions.

WS/FCS currently has 194 teaching positions to fill, 60 bus driver openings, and 80 available kitchen assistant positions. There are also immediate needs for custodians and maintenance workers.

“The district is excited to host these career opportunity events this summer,” said WS/FCS Chief Human Resources Officer Jevelyn Bonner-Reed.  “We have amazing opportunities for teachers, teacher assistants, nurses, and operations areas such as child nutrition and transportation. We have targeted events for these areas and hope to have great participation from the community.”

The schedule will include virtual events and one in-person career fair:

  • July 13, 3-5 p.m. Virtual Summer Career Fair — This event will focus on classroom and central office roles.
  • July 15, noon-4 p.m. Operations Career Fair at RJR Bryson Gym — This in-person event will offer the opportunity to apply and interview for jobs in transportation, facilities, child nutrition and maintenance.
  • July 20, 3-3:45 p.m. Alternative Pathways to Teaching Webinar — This webinar will offer advice on how to become a teacher despite current career paths.
  • July 22, 4-5 p.m. Teacher Assistant Webinar — Interested applicants can learn about current teacher assistant openings and apply for employment.
  • July 29, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Meet the Team: School Nurses — Applicants can learn about new opportunities to work as a nurse at schools across the district.
