RIPON — Ripon College honored outstanding alumni during its recent Alumni Weekend. Because of the canceled ceremony in the summer of 2020, honorees from both 2020 and 2021 were recognized.

Ruth Anne Gero Adams, class of 1985, of Clemmons, received the Distinguished Alumni Citation. She accepted the award virtually.

Adams’ hometown is Columbus, Wisconsin. She has been a senior litigation analyst with Womble Bond Dickinson LLP (U.S.) since 1995. She is a veteran of the U.S. Army JAG Corps., serving from 1988 to 1992, and was a paratrooper with the 82d Airborne Division. She is a member of the Wisconsin State Bar Association; Holy Family Catholic Church in Clemmons; and Marian Missionaries of Divine Mercy.

At Ripon College, she majored in philosophy and participated in Phi Beta Kappa, Laurel Society, Alpha Delta Pi sorority and varsity softball. She was the 1985 winner of the Storzer Award, presented to a three-time letter-winning athlete with the highest grade-point average. She received her law degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
