Salem Band to kick off 250th anniversary season with Beethoven Lives! concert

WINSTON-SALEM — Join Salem Band for its first concert of the 250th Anniversary Season at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 19, in Salem Square in Old Salem.

This free concert will feature the music of Beethoven and his contemporaries, Haydn and Mozart, and will create a program of beauty, familiarity, and comfort that will explore just how alive Beethoven remains in the hearts and minds of today’s music lovers. Movements from Symphony No.5, marches, overtures, and Ode to Joy make up this exciting classical program.

Salem Band’s season presenting sponsor is Mercedes-Benz of Winston-Salem. This concert is part of the city-wide initiative BTHVN ROCKS WS presented by Mercedes-Benz of Winston-Salem.

Bring a lawn chair. Rain date is 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21. Audience members are encouraged to sit at a distance and wear a mask per Salem Band protocol recommendations.
