Homecoming has come and gone but will definitely be one to remember for the Titans. Last week, West was crowded with students decked out in spirit week themes showing that West is best.

Even though the Titans lost to the Glenn Bobcats 22-13, there was still some victory in the air. Abigail Hobson, senior, was awarded the title of homecoming queen.

“Winning homecoming was an unbelievable and exciting experience. I couldn’t help but smile the whole time. The people on the court made it so much fun, especially knowing we all supported each other. It was a once in a lifetime moment and an experience I won’t forget.” Hobson said.

Right alongside her, Lamont Monroe, a West drumline favorite, won the title of homecoming king. To watch the homecoming ceremony, click here.

Friday will be another big day for the Titan football team to take on the Reagan Raiders. The student section theme is lights out but no doubt the West Wackos will be lighting up the stadium. The game starts at 7:30 p.m., tickets are $5 for students and $7 for others.

A few universities will visit West Forsyth on Friday. This gives students an opportunity to talk to individuals about their options after high school. Queens University of Charlotte will be in the upper level of the media center at 8:15 a.m. UNC- Wilmington at noon in the cafeteria lobby during student lunches. Take advantage of this opportunity while it’s available.

Principal Kevin Spainhour and the rest of the faculty and staff will be strictly enforcing students to stay in the designated lunch areas on campus. This is to ensure all students can be accounted for in case of an emergency situation. It is important to note students are not allowed to go off campus for lunch. The designated lunch areas are the cafeteria, the Titan Terrace, the breezeway area between the 500 building and the cafeteria and the picnic area.
